Dr. Alison Cronin - The Monkey Rescuer
On April 24, Golden Year 5 (2008), representatives from The Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association traveled to beautiful Dorset in the Southwest of England to present Dr. Alison Cronin, the director of Monkey World, with the Shining World Compassion Award.
Through her hard work and a strong spirit, Alison Cronin managed to rescue and bring home to England 88 Capuchin monkeys that had been confined in small cages in a testing laboratory in Chile. Some had been there for as long as 20 years. When presented with the Award and the loving contribution of US$5,000 from Master, Alison said, "One hundred percent of this check will go towards helping more monkeys and apes." She sincerely thanked Master for this recognition and would like to invite Her to visit the rescue center they now have in Au Lac and the Monkey World in Dorset. She also happily accepted the gifts which included The Noble Wilds and The Birds in My Life.
The Daily Echo, a newspaper that has wide circulation in the Southwest of England published an article about the Award presentation, in which Dr. Alison Cronin said, "I am honored and pleased, especially as this award is given for acts of kindness, which is something we need more of in the world." It was a great opportunity to share Master's boundless love with noble people and animals alike.
