Madam Wang Yu-zhen - Recognition of a Devoted Protector of Dogs

Madam Wang Yu-zhen's receipt for Master's US$5,000 gift

On behalf of Supreme Master Ching Hai, Association members presented the Shining World Compassion Award to Madam Wang Yu-zhen on June 11, Golden Year 5 (2008), in recognition of her noble respect for life and love for animals. Having been a vegetarian for nearly two decades, Madam Huang was deeply saddened to see stray dogs being put to death. About eight years ago, she rented a house by the riverside in the eastern part of Chiayi City, to provide shelter for abandoned and stray dogs that were about to be euthanized by the Environmental Protection Bureau. The Award presentation was held at our Chiayi Center. Madam Wang received an exquisite plaque, a US$5,000 gift from Master, and some of Master's lecture DVDs and publications. To show her appreciation for Master's compassionate encouragement and blessing, Madam Wang said that she would work even harder in extending care and love to stray dogs and in striving to improve their living conditions. She said that whenever she thought of Master in her deep gratitude, a dignified image of Master wearing monastic attire would immediately appear in her mind. She hoped that she would have the opportunity to learn more about Master.
