On April 3, Golden Year 5 (2008), members of The Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association went to Falls Church, Virginia to present Master's Shining World Leadership Award to SAACID, an Australian/Somali non-government organization.

Accepting the Award on SAACID's behalf was Ms. Raha Mohamud Janaqow, SAACID-Somalia's Country Director. The Award was presented in recognition of SACCID's noble humanitarianism providing comfort and aid to Somalia's desperate people.

SAACID (say-eed), meaning 'to help' in Somali, focuses on practical measures to enhance the life-options of women, children and the poor (www.saacid.org). This Australian/Somali non-government organization distributed over two million life saving meals to the hungry people in Mogadishu over an eight-week period. This heartfelt act of kindness provided comfort to the starving and is an inspiring example for others to follow.

SAACID has continuously provided funding to many noteworthy causes demonstrating a wholehearted commitment to its noble vision of "a world in which all women, children and the poor have full access to the resources necessary to fulfill their potential."

Together with the Award, members of The Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association also gave Ms. Raha Mohamud Janaqow a copy of Master's latest book, The Noble Wilds.

Ms. Raha Mohamud Janaqow expressed her gratitude to Master for the gift and the Award. She hoped that the world would pay more attention to the dire situation in Africa, especially the urgent condition in Somalia.
