Ms. Toni Dukes - A Caring Heart

By San Jose News Group, USA (Originally in English) 2008.04.26

On April 26, Golden Year 5 (2008), Toni Dukes was presented with Master's Shining World Compassion Award.

Ms. Toni Dukes is a single mother who works in San Francisco, CA, USA. She commutes by car more than 90 miles each way 5 days per week from her home in Northern California to work as an operator for 911 (Emergency Call Service in the USA).

In addition to facing her own challenges in life, Toni also tries to help those less fortunate than herself. She began walking through some of the most economically deprived areas of downtown San Francisco handing out gloves to those who needed them, thus becoming known as the "Glove Lady." Her heart went out to those who could do with a helping hand in a time of need, and she developed ongoing relationships with the people living on the streets. Even if the weather was not cold, she would make a point of greeting them with a smile.

Toni was very surprised and happy to receive the Shining World Compassion Award, along with a selection of Master's books and DVDs.

We would like to convey our sincere appreciation, Ms. Toni Dukes, for your loving acts of kindness toward members of society who benefit greatly from your selfless, caring heart.
