Queen Rania is committed to working diligently for her country and citizens. The model of a true 21st century leader, she is first and foremost dedicated to Jordan’s precious future – the children. Doing her utmost to provide them with optimal care, support and education, she says, “Educating our children is not just about imposing a body of knowledge on them. It means instilling a love for lifelong learning, creativity, self-expression and an appreciation for diversity.” In early September 2008, the Queen opened the magical Hal Hilalak tent for the holy month of Ramadan, where different groups of disadvantaged children were offered a chance to enjoy evening iftar, the meal that ends the daily Ramadan fast, along with exciting activities and entertainment.

On May 7, 2007, Her Majesty was presented with the Peacemaker Award by Seeds of Peace. The presenter of the award proudly stated: “Her Majesty Queen Rania's commitment to working throughout the Middle East and on the world stage to educate children of conflict and provide opportunities to create peace makes her a worthy recipient.” She was also appointed  UNICEF’s first eminent Advocate for Children in 2007.

For her outstanding philanthropic activities, including diligently campaigning against poverty and working tirelessly for the empowerment of Jordanian women, Supreme Master Ching Hai awarded Queen Rania with a Shining World Leadership Award in 2007. In Her congratulatory letter, Supreme Master Ching Hai lovingly said, “You have won the hearts of your citizens and of people around the world ”

In a letter to Her Majesty the following year, Supreme Master Ching Hai once again recognized Her Majesty’s noble leadership and commended the Queen of Jordan for advancing humanity by encouraging Arab countries to create a culture of “wealth-sharing,” building social equality and protecting the environment.

The Queen’s office responded with the following letter
to Supreme Master Ching Hai,
reaffirming her commitment to social justice and an equal world:
